Hi, I’m Vitto.

(he/him/siya)

I’m a first generation Filipino immigrant living in Mini hrpa, or as we now call, Banff. I was an aircraft mechanic by profession, but I have always been a creative at heart so when I moved to Canada six years ago to be with my partner, I took the opportunity to practice my photography.

I enjoy capturing wildlife, people, and moments that make me feel alive.

My eldest brother, a nurse and part-time photographer, inspired me to take my hobby to the next level. When a friend doing social impact work invited me to take photos of their event, I hesitantly said sure without any intention of making more out of it.

As more opportunities arise, I am learning that photography is more than a craft for me. It’s how I connect, contribute, and find my place in the community.

If you’d like your community event captured in Banff, Lake Louise or Canmore, I’d love to hear from you!

I live and work on Treaty 7 territory—the traditional lands of the Iyarhe Nakoda, Blackfoot Confederacy, Tsuut’ina Nation, and Métis Nation Region 3. These lands, known traditionally as Chuwapchipchiyan Kudi Bi and Mini Hrpa, are now also called Canmore and Banff.

I came here seeking a better life and I am learning that this opportunity is made possible through the displacement and ongoing struggles of Indigenous peoples. I commit to seeking the truth and learning about the original stewards of this land that I now capture with my lenses.
